Maternal Relationship

My mother and I rarely ever get along. I admire so many of her qualities and strive to mirror them. Then there are other qualities that I react so adversely to. Most times I want to pull out my hair when we get into it about something. And the funny thing is --> the things I dislike MOST about her, I find myself doing. **sigh**

The same things I complain about my mother are the same things my husband sez about me. He speaks volumes of truth when he tells me I have an attitude problem.

Resolve... maybe everytime somebody asks me a question, I should answer it... not think about the motives behind why they asked it. LOL... that would be a wonderful start.

You are so hard on yourself sometimes. But I guess that's how we learn and grow. It may not be a totally bad thing to be like your mom. It's not like you don't admire her...

I've been told I have an attitude problem--I'm currently working on that. I hope your relationship with your mom gets better.

Why do maternal relationships have to be so difficult? *sigh* I know what you mean. I'm still learning the 'best' way to deal with my own mother. And, like you, I'm trying not to mirror the negatives.

@shellyP... you know what i always wonder about is the women who do get along with their mothers. what is their secret?

Dang it, Neena! Is this a Leo thing? Because I don't care too much for "sistah girl" either, yet I'm picking up ALL of her negative "qualities". The one thing I picked up that I like is her laughter.... she cackles! And no matter what's she laughing about, you start laughing too. Oh and sistah girl KNOWS she can make a dollar outta 15 cents.

One day, God will allow me to break the ice with her..... meanwhile, I'll stick to calling her twice a month to see how's she doing and make sure she's not dead (sighing). BTW, Thanks for visiting my blog.
