Say Hey

As you ring in the new year, may it be filled with LOVE and tender affection for the people around you. I miss my family dearly especially when things get a little rough around these parts. My in-laws are going through some serious changes and it makes me reflect on my upbringing. I am so grateful for my parents. It always seems that I am most grateful for them when I'm far away. That is such a tragedy that I don't appreciate them when they're right in my face. Distance does make the heart grow fonder.

Today, with all the crazy things that went down in this house (I will tell the story later), I am grateful for the solid foundation upon which I have been raised. My cultural tradition and religious background makes me who I am today and I thank my parents for being so unwavering in the application of both culture and religion. Even though I left BOTH for a short time, I have returned to its truths and I attribute that to my parents having built, for me, such a strong base to build upon.

So anyway, when you ring in the new year, be kind and fill the world with LOVE!

One of the greatest songs of 2009 was "Say Hey" by Michael Franti. Here it is for you to enjoy. The lyrics injects goodness into the world and it's a great way to start 2010.
